Join us
We work on privacy-preserving machine learning and secure analysis of medical and genomic data. There are several ways to work with us, even when no position is advertised.
There are no open positions at the moment.
New openings will be announced on this page and in our news.
PhD and postdoc applications
We are always interested in strong candidates with a background in machine learning, cryptography or security. If you bring your own funding or want to apply for a fellowship to join us, we are happy to support your application, before and after you apply.
Fellowships that can fund a position with us include:
- Humboldt Research Fellowship (postdocs)
- Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships
- DFG Walter Benjamin Programme (postdocs)
- DAAD research grants (doctoral candidates)
Research visits
PhD students and postdocs who would like to spend time in Tübingen working on a joint question are welcome as visitors. Tell us what you would like to work on, how long you would like to stay and how the visit would be funded, for example by your home institution or a travel grant.
Collaborations
If your work involves sensitive data that cannot simply be shared, such as clinical or genomic data spread across institutions, we would like to hear about it. We are open to joint research projects and grant proposals with clinical and academic partners.
Master's projects
Master's students at the University of Tübingen looking for a project or thesis can email Mete Akgün or any group member, or stop by our office. See our research for current topics.
